Still the first and only 100% synthetic-free, 100% plastic-free organic linen blackout curtain in the world, with every single component coming from nature (this is not the case with other so-called "organic" blackout curtains on the market, which may have synthetic thread and/or acrylic or other plastic blackout layers hidden in the fine print). Our untreated organic linen blackout curtain features a 100% organic cotton blackout layer; the whole organic linen blackout curtain is 100% biodegradable: 100% natural fabrics, organic cotton sewing thread, handmade hemp macrame rings with wooden button closure, natural European cork & organic cotton labels; all handcrafted at Rawganique Atelier in Europe for true sweatshop-free purity. Our organic linen blackout curtain contains no plastic, no elastic, no latex, no PVC, no polyester, no acrylic, no vinyl, no off-gassing from VOC chemicals, no chemical treatments, no forever chemicals, no fire retardants; in fact, no synthetics whatsoever.

Workshop notes: These are the only 100% natural plastic-free, synthetic-free organic blackout curtains in the world. Being 100% natural does NOT mean scent-free. All natural materials have a scent and cotton fiber and linen fibers are no exception. Grass has a scent, so do rose petals and indigo leaves. A natural material with no scent probably has gone through a chemical “sanitizing”. Our organically grown cotton and linen fibers are processed naturally using traditional methods that involve fermentation (dew-retting) and no toxic chemicals were used. We use GOTS certified unscented natural detergents to wash fibers and fabrics and finished products. We do NOT use any synthetic scents or perfumes at any part of production. When you first open the package, you may notice a scent that had been bottled up inside the package. This scent from the fibers and fermentation processing will dissipate over time and they are natural and not synthetic. If you require a product with no scent at all, then our products, 100% natural as they are with scents that come directly from nature, may not be for you.

We started making this unique organic linen blackout curtain in 1997 and it has since consistently been a favorite with our customers who are concerned about potential dangers of volatile organic chemicals (VOC) that come from off-gassing PVC and other chemically treated synthetic materials in curtains and other textiles in their home. Our organic linen and cotton are processed traditionally and naturally in Europe under strict regulations, without acids or toxic chemicals. The linen is unbleached and undyed; the organic cotton is unbleached and dyed with eco biodegradable dyes from Switzerland. Dry clean only. Or steam clean to disinfect and sanitize (be sure to keep moisture to a minimum as color transfer from the biodegradable dye in the dark brown organic cotton layer may transfer). We have recently modified the top portion of the curtain in response to comments about light passing readily through the top when hung on rings. We’ve added a second hole to create a choice how to hang it - either in the exact same way as before, with the rings only using the top hole; or in a new way using both holes which hangs the curtain higher and blocks light where it is hung at the rod. To hang it lower, please simply change the rings to go through only the top hole, which makes the rod visible from the inside of the room above the top edge of the curtain. Returns Policy

Due to the special and unique nature of our plastic-free organic natural products, which have not gone through a chemical or perfume process, there are restrictions on certain categories of returns. Please read before purchasing from us.

A majority of our customers are chemically sensitive and/or highly averse to chemicals, scents and perfumes which may potentially cause severe allergic reactions. Therefore, any products that come into contact with intimate parts and skin are not returnable as we aren’t able to resell them. When customers buy non-returnable items from us, we send them brand new products that have always been in our custody and have not been tried on or been in the possession of other customers.

For bedding, we recommend that customers buy a pillowcase to try out and see if it works for them; we also sell bedding, pillow and comforter samples and swatch books.

We thank you for your understanding and respecting our small scale. We are a small-batch independent producer by choice so that we can offer the purest products available.

Non-returnable items (sorry, we aren’t able to make exceptions, due to hygiene reasons): * Intimate wear (underwear, TINA Bra, ALYSSA Bra and other bras, modesty pads, menstrual pads, socks). We are happy to consult about sizing by email. If you need to return underwear, we recommend that you buy from other merchants that accept returns on underwear. * Bedding and Bath items (bedsheets, towels, pillows, comforters, toppers, mattresses) * Absolutely any items that have been used, washed, stained, scented or contaminated by perfume. * Any marked down, closeout or final sale items.

Items that are returnable must be returned in new original condition within 30 days of receipt. To start a return, sign in to your customer account within 30 days of receipt and submit a return request from your order history.

To exchange an item, please return it per the instructions and conditions below and include a note with what you would like instead. There is a 5% restocking fee on returns, but not on exchanges for a different size or color of the same product.

Most products are returnable in original new condition (unworn, unscented, unwashed) within 30 days of receipt for refund.

Cut fabrics, bedding items (pillows, comforters, toppers, mattresses, sleeping bags), as well as intimate wear (including underwear, modesty pads, TINA Bra, ALYSSA Bra), socks, mouth masks, and anything washed, worn, scented or soiled, for hygiene and in consideration to chemically sensitive customers, are absolutely not returnable. By ordering online the customer accepts that the seller alone determines whether a return is in acceptable condition.

If you are unsure, please order a single item, pillow case, a wash cloth, etc. to try out before ordering larger sizes or multiples; as well, we have sample sizes available to order on the pillows and mattresses pages. Closeout - Final Sale items are marked as such on the product pages, and are also non-returnable (but they can be exchanged in strictly new condition for a different size or color of the same item).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.
