Note: our organic rugs are not treated with stainguard or stain-proofing chemicals (that's the whole point of an organic rug!), so spills such as coffee or wine may leave a mark which a carpet professional might be able to remove. Our organic cotton & hemp are rugs are not machine washable, because the yarns are not chemically stabilized with formaldehyde, unlike conventional rugs; and because hemp and cotton shrink at differential rates. Also the colors might bleed. Beat and air regularly to keep fresh, and carefully spot clean any stains with plain water or a chemical-free solution.

A time-honored natural insect deterrence approach (moths, for example) is using natural essential oils such as oregano, lavender, cedar wood, peppermint, patchouli. Diffusing a few drops of oil in water and spray. Apply or try on underside, and take care to not saturate the rug in liquid as that would leave water stains.

Too Expensive

I bought 2 of these and was so excited to use them. They are used at my front door and entrance to garage door. Both rugs are inside my home. Well after one week of use my cat had a hairball on it. So I hosed it off with water and tried air drying it. It leaves a horrible water stain. (See picture) I have purchased Coyuch Organic Cotton Rugs and have spot cleaned them and they were as good as new. Mind you those were very expensive rugs even higher priced than these. You can't spend $170 for a rug that lasts one week. I really love the look and smell of these but you can't have children or pets or company over. Dirt, mud, water, dog paws, shoes, wine spills, kids spill things, cat hairballs, etc. Life happens. If you can't clean with water than these just don't work. Wish I could get a refund. :(

Shipping & Returns

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.

This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
