Vegan 100% wild kapok contour pillow - made from beautifully fluffy, downy raw kapok fibers harvested from wild kapok trees, which are gargantuan tropical trees that yield pods that pop open when ripe to reveal fluffy, soft kapok fibers that are ready to use (after cleaning with no chemicals) to stuff our truly natural, wild and organic pillows. 100% organic cotton casing (ticking). With zipper, so you can adjust fill to your liking. Medium loft. Completely chemical-free. Handmade in USA.
To ensure that every customer gets sent a brand-new product, all pillows, comfortables, mattresses and futons sold by Rawganique are not returnable. They are packaged in plastic to prevent contamination in transit. If you believe you may be sensitive to natural fiber oils, please order a small pillow sample first. We offer pillow samples and mattress samples in all fill materials for you to test out our organic pillows, comforters and mattresses in miniature form which can be used as pin cushions or seat cushions in the case of mattress samples. For optimal flexibility, we recommend getting the firmest pillows in a zippered version, so you can adjust the fill to your liking over time. Thank you for your understanding and respecting our small scale.
100% Wild Kapok Contour Pillow
Our wild-crafted kapok pillows are special. Kapok is a big tropical tree that yields puffs of downy cotton-like materials that have been used for centuries to fill bedding (see our video below). We select only the finest wild kapok down to use in our handmade sustainable kapok pillows.
Unlike silk and down, which kapok resembles, our kapok is completely natural and vegan and 100% plant-based. Our chemical-free kapok pillow feels like a cross between down and silk pillow and cotton pillow. It's soft and resilient like silk and down but not as firm as cotton.
Our vegan 100% kapok pillows provide an attractive 100% natural alternative to cotton-filled and wool-filled pillows.
The kapok pillow is extremely rare and unique. The ticking is made with 100% organic cotton fabric. Kapok trees grow in rain-forest climates. They grow wild all over Thailand and Singapore. They produce a filling that retains its springiness better than cotton and come out ready to use, without further processing.
Kapok trees are HUGE trees (similar in size to oak and maple and walnut trees). Our kapok fill is wild-harvested from these gigantic trees, so no organic certification is necessary (the same way that one would not certify an oak tree organic). No pesticides, no GMO, just wondrous wild beauty of a truly natural product that comes ready to use from nature.
Optional 100% organic cotton pillowcases also available, as are organic linen pillowcases, organic hemp pillowcases, and organic cotton pillowcases in different fabrics.
Question of natural and organic kapok: Kapok trees are equivalent to forest trees like oak, cedar, and fir. They grow to tremendous heights and widths in the tropics. They are not commonly cultivated like cotton, but instead they are typically wild-harvested in their natural habitat. So they are natural and organic, they are just not certified as such, as certification is more commonly aimed at cultivated crops like corn and cotton which normally require fertilizers and pesticides. Kapok does not need either, in the same way that oak trees and cedar trees in the wild do not.
Made in the US. Sweatshop-free.Â
Where to buy wild kapok pillow? At Rawganique of course. We are the best place to buy wild kapok pillow because we have been the purveyor and industry leader in chemical-free, animal-friendly organic bedding since 1997.
Returns Policy
ÂDue to the special and unique nature of our plastic-free organic natural products, which have not gone through a chemical or perfume process, there are restrictions on certain categories of returns. Please read before purchasing from us. Â
A majority of our customers are chemically sensitive and/or highly averse to chemicals, scents and perfumes which may potentially cause severe allergic reactions. Therefore, any products that come into contact with intimate parts and skin are not returnable as we aren’t able to resell them. When customers buy non-returnable items from us, we send them brand new products that have always been in our custody and have not been tried on or been in the possession of other customers. Â
For bedding, we recommend that customers buy a pillowcase to try out and see if it works for them; we also sell bedding, pillow and comforter samples and swatch books. Â
We thank you for your understanding and respecting our small scale. We are a small-batch independent producer by choice so that we can offer the purest products available. Â
Non-returnable items (sorry, we aren’t able to make exceptions, due to hygiene reasons): * Intimate wear (underwear, TINA Bra, ALYSSA Bra and other bras, modesty pads, menstrual pads, socks). We are happy to consult about sizing by email. If you need to return underwear, we recommend that you buy from other merchants that accept returns on underwear. * Bedding and Bath items (bedsheets, towels, pillows, comforters, toppers, mattresses) * Absolutely any items that have been used, washed, stained, scented or contaminated by perfume. * Any marked down, closeout or final sale items.
Items that are returnable must be returned in new original condition within 30 days of receipt. To start a return, sign in to your customer account within 30 days of receipt and submit a return request from your order history.
To exchange an item, please return it per the instructions and conditions below and include a note with what you would like instead. There is a 5% restocking fee on returns, but not on exchanges for a different size or color of the same product.Â
Most products are returnable in original new condition (unworn, unscented, unwashed) within 30 days of receipt for refund.
Cut fabrics, bedding items (pillows, comforters, toppers, mattresses, sleeping bags), as well as intimate wear (including underwear, modesty pads, TINA Bra, ALYSSA Bra), socks, mouth masks, and anything washed, worn, scented or soiled, for hygiene and in consideration to chemically sensitive customers, are absolutely not returnable. By ordering online the customer accepts that the seller alone determines whether a return is in acceptable condition.
If you are unsure, please order a single item, pillow case, a wash cloth, etc. to try out before ordering larger sizes or multiples; as well, we have sample sizes available to order on the pillows and mattresses pages. Closeout - Final Sale items are marked as such on the product pages, and are also non-returnable (but they can be exchanged in strictly new condition for a different size or color of the same item).Â
Shipping is non-refundable; we do not provide prepaid return shipping labels. If you return items for exchange for a different size or color of the same style, we will ship the exchange out without extra charge (within the 48 contiguous US states only). Â
