For the past 26 years we have been getting our cotton from a small certified organic farm in Texas, grown by the same family for over 100 years. For the cotton to be certified organic, the field must have been farmed chemical-free for 3 years. The cotton is ginned at their certified organic gin, and spun into yarn in North Carolina. The products are then sewn for us in South Carolina - for a finished product that is grown and made entirely in the USA.

We are a small company by choice, so that we can continue to make truly organic products sweatshop-free in USA and Europe. As you may know, going big usually means going to China or India where we and our customers would have reservations concerning troubling labor practices and rampant usage of industrial chemicals.

All of our products are made on a small scale with farms and workers that we have worked with since our beginning. This allows us to make innovations like using organic elastic and threads and plastic-free natural buttons developed in-house. And of course there are never any pesticides or industrial chemicals used in growing our fibers or making our products. We serve many chemically sensitive customers, and our world-view has always from the beginning been to protect the environment, animals, and people. That is why we do what we do. And that is why you don’t see greenwashed products such as bamboo and other modern chemical and synthetic fibers at Rawganique.

Care: Wash as you would fine cotton products. Machine wash on gentle/delicate cycle with like colors, using a mild biodegradable detergent. Hang to dry or tumble dry on low. Remove promptly. Steam iron at cotton settings, if desired.

Comfy but sizing off

I ordered 2 pairs in an XL based off the sizing chart and I could have easily gone with a L. Besides that they’re soft and perfect for home lounging

The sizing appears to be correct. In my case I decided to buy one size larger, as I wanted them more loose. This way I don't feel them pressing on my sensitive areas at all, and they still look normal. If someone likes to sit in a meditation like position I can recommend doing the same.

# More thoughts

Searching through organic clothes, I see a huge focus on the environment, which is important. Yet, it is equally important to be conscious of what's put into our bodies and what we wear on them.

People have a mentality that 'it doesn't cause me issues now, so it is fine', not realizing that every day we are working on our future, and one day they may get a skin condition or other issues due to such neglect.

With this logic in mind, I wanted to highly recommend this product. In my case, resources are a bit tight, but I made a decision to stock up on truly quality clothes, having fewer clothes, but of the best quality.

As for what's advertised, the fabric is indeed raw/undyed, as typical characteristics are noticeable. Tiny darker spots are a testament to this. The fabrics are highly likely to be organic, but I haven't found specific certificates mentioned. I think it is necessary for people to simply research the producer for themselves.

About As Close As I Can Get to Being Naked While Still Being Socially Acceptable

I live in Beersheba, Israel, not quite as hot as Arizona, but not too far off. To beat the heat of the Negev desert, the Arizona shorts and a pair of sandals is about as close as I can get to being naked as I roam the city while still being socially acceptable. While too sheer to be used a bathing suit, these shorts function great without underwear, or as underwear should I pull on pants when I reach my destination.

The meaning of the word "jersey" was not known to me when I first bought these, so I expected a sort of inelastic canvassy/linen texture based on the photos, but actually the fabric is identical to that of a decently heavy t-shirt. So, a bit more vulnerable-feeling than I'd hoped but I've grown to love them entirely. And they're definitely solid enough to go commando with.
