Reusable Menstrual Cup of Medical Grade Silicone
Available in two sizes to suit different flow level. Up to 12 hours of protection. Made with medical-grade silicone. Free from plastic, scents, and adhesive chemicals. Comfortable, safe, easy to use.
The Xo Flo Cup collects (up to 38ml) rather than absorbs liquid, so it gives longer and more comfortable protection than tampons. With proper care, your menstrual cup will last many years.
When removing the Xo Flo, use the thinnest part of the bead only to locate the stem; grip it at the thicker, closer-to-the-cup part to tug on it.
How to choose between the Regular and the Mini size? If you have given birth, have a relatively high cervix, or have a bigger flow, you'll likely prefer the Regular.
How to care for your Xo Flo cup: After use, wash with mild, biodegradable soap and lukewarm water. Between cycles, dry the cup completely and store in breathable bag such as the one provided.
At the beginning of your cycle, wash the cup with mild soap and water. Do not use sharp objects to clean details of the cup as that may damage it. Instead, gently rub, after soaking in mild soap in water for a few minutes. You may briefly boil the cup, but not prolonged, as excessive exposure to boiling may damage it.
Why make the switch?
Health
Reusable silicone menstrual cups eliminate the need for bleached cotton/rayon blend tampons. They greatly reduce the chance of Toxic Shock Syndrome, too.
Environment
Disposable menstrual products are rough on the planet. Tampons take six months to decompose in a landfill, and one disposable maxi pad contains as much plastic as four grocery bags. With reusable menstrual cups, one person can keep 300 pounds of waste from the landfill in a lifetime.
Money
Spending tons of money on menstrual products every month is like taking the taxi for every ride, instead of owning a car. In three months, you will have paid for your XO Flo cup with the money you’ve saved from now having to buy tampons for every cycle. Think about it: this cup lasts for 10 or more years. In that time, you’ll save $1,400 on disposable solutions.
What size do I need?
XO Flo comes in two sizes: Regular and Mini.
- The Regular XO Flo is for those with a heavier flow, those who have given birth, those with a high cervix, and those who use super absorbent tampons.
- The XO Flo Mini is for those with a lighter flow, those who have never given birth, those with a low cervix, and those who feel pressure on their bladder when trying other menstrual cups.
Instructions
Relax! Remember the first time you used a tampon? It wasn’t the easiest thing in the world, but you’re probably great at it now!
First, make sure the two air holes in the cup are clear (this affects the suction). Then, fold the cup in half (with the X sides together), and then in half again. The rim is now in a C-shape. Insert, rim side first, slightly angled toward your tailbone. Slowly guide it to where it feels comfortable. The cup will pop open.
To remove your menstrual cup, first locate the rubber string on the end. THIS IS NOT LIKE A TAMPON STRING. DO NOT PULL. Locate the string, and then reach up higher and pinch the bottom of the cup. Bear down if necessary, and slowly pull the cup out. Empty the contents into the toilet and rinse. At the end of each menstrual cycle, you’ll want to boil the cup for a few minutes.
