Yoga + Hemp = Heavenly. We get an early start on the day with an hour of yoga by the fireplace. We love doing yoga on bare floors - with our Asana 100% Organic European Hemp Yoga Mat (the purest yoga mat there is) on top of our PVC-free natural rubber yoga mat to give traction on the smooth floor.
We find that practicing yoga directly on the sticky mat is uncomfortable (and in the case of natural rubber mats, a little stinky), so we always have our hemp yoga mat on top of the natural rubber yoga mats or, if the floor underneath is not too hard, just the hemp yoga rug by itself. Our unique double-sided hemp yoga mat (one side hemp ribbed knit for some friction and the other side smooth woven hemp) can be folded to cushion the butt for sitting poses and the knees on kneeling poses. We also fold up the hemp yoga mat for sitting meditation. Our hemp yoga mat, of course, is great as a hemp prayer mat as well. Many customers even use the hemp yoga mat as a yoga blanket and wrap when the air gets a little chilly.

Many customers, wanting absolute purity, use this hemp yoga mat as a standalone-yoga mat (on floors that offer some friction, like rugs or carpets — or they use the hemp yoga mat for kneeling and lying down poses: when they need grip for inverted poses, they just put their pants and feet on the wooden floor). Please note that for hard floors such as marble or concrete, the hemp yoga mat alone is not recommended, as more cushioning will be beneficial.

We love hemp, if you can't already tell. Rawganique.com was inspired by the late Jack Herer (hemptivist and author of the eye-opening hemp bible 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes"), who believed that hemp was a 'free' plant, a democratic plant that refuses to be confined by politics. For thousands of years, hemp has resisted corporations' attempts to "own" it, to commercialize it, patent it, trademark it. Instead, it has spread throughout the world, to every culture and every land, pretty much unscathed, in its strong original form. That's why we love hemp and are happy to see hemp products proliferating into the hands of end users who will benefit from its wonderous properties. The world will be a better place, too, for hemp is easily grown without pesticides (except in some countries that still use chemical defoliants, pesticided in-between crops, and acid & chemical fiber processing).
