Our untreated certified organic merino retains all the legendary qualities of this special yarn: naturally anti-bacterial and anti-odor. These organic merino socks are naturally stretchy but non-confining (they don't cut off your circulation like regular socks with elastic do). Our organic merino socks are made in-house and finished by hand at Rawganique Atelier in Europe, sweatshop-free, from premium certified organic merino yarns from France and Italy. 2-ply socks are stretchier than 3-ply socks, which are more snug and huggy. 100% natural organic merino socks without polyester and elastane may not be as tough as synthetic socks, so be gentle on them.
Elastic-Free 100% Organic Merino Wool Socks Synthetic-free Plastic-free
We created these unique 100% organic merino socks for people who need and want plastic-free, elastic-free, synthetic-free, completely natural organic wool socks to wear. Yes, it is possible to make cozy, comfortable, functional organic merino socks without elastic! No polyamide, no nylon, no elastane, no spandex, no chemical treatments, no forever chemicals, no nasties. You have to take care of these special organic merino socks because truly natural socks will wear out if you are hard on them. If holes develop, you will have to mend them like folks used to do before cheap throwaway fashion culture, chemicals and synthetics came along. There are lots of good videos on YouTube how to mend socks (holes from wear-and-tear in truly natural socks are not defects but are part and parcel (and charm) of truly natural products; synthetics and plastics, on the other hand, may last forever, literally, to the detriment of the planet.
Our elastic-free organic merino wool socks allow free circulation in your legs and feet and do not compress and cut off circulation the way socks with elastic do.
If you don't need your socks to be elastic-free, we offer many styles of organic socks with biodegradable organic elastic as well as regular elastic. It is extremely hard, almost impossible, to make elastic-free, synthetic-free organic merino wool socks today, with modern machines, which are designed specifically for high-speed mass production that requires synthetics to operate. That's why we have to finish knitting our elastic-free organic merino socks by hand, especially at the seams; this slows down production and adds greatly to the cost, but for a good cause, because so many of our customers are allergic or averse to elastane and polyester and really need truly natural socks to wear. We do not use forever chemicals to shrinkage-proof or to alter or modify the truly natural organic merino fibers in anyway; in fact, we do not use forever chemicals in any product we make, period.
Please read before buying: Do not put these special socks in the dryer. If you must use a dryer, please choose one of our organic cotton with elastic instead. Merino will shrink in the high dry heat of the dryer. Shrinkage is not a claimable defect (we do not use forever chemicals to shrinkage-proof our products). By purchasing these unique merino socks, you agree to not use the dryer. Wash on gentle cycle in a laundry mesh bag (or by hand) with lukewarm water and mild biodegradable detergent and lay flat to dry. LUKEWARM water is best, not super tap cold, not warm, not hot; product may shrink or become felted at hot temperatures. Wash as infrequently as possible. Also, pure merino wool socks, by their nature, cannot be as durable as wool socks with 30-40% spandex, polyamide, elastane and/or other synthetics (that's why all the other manufacturers put so much synthetics into their socks); we make these special organic merino socks for people who need and want truly synthetic-free socks. If you want more durable socks, choose one of our other socks with elastic.
Our certified organic merino wool socks are perfect for the plastic-free lifestyle, as well as for anyone with allergies to latex, polyester and synthetic fibers.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know so that we can continue to make these special and unique organic merino socks available.
"TERRIFIC SOCKS! These and the Glaciers are the best socks I've ever worn. They are incredibly comfortable and my feet don't sweat in them. I love how soft they are; it almost feels like I'm not wearing socks. They don't bind my legs or irritate my sensitive skin, both of which are a great relief from synthetic blends. Both types of socks keep my feet warm in the colder weather but the Glaciers are needed for the very cold temperatures. I love the wide toe box which lets my feet relax. I'm so glad you're selling these! Thank you!"
"all wool socks It's very hard to find socks without synthetics and I'm happy this company exists. My issue isn't so much a health concern with latex or nylon etc, it's that the synthetics create a clammy feel, so much so that I can't wear most shoes for long without discomfort. High quality all leather shoes and boots are the exception, and pairing them will all wool socks can't be beat."

100% natural organic wool socks are not as long-lasting or robust as wool socks blended with polyamide, elastic and other types of synthetic fibers, which are more suitable for sports activities. We recommend our synthetic-free 100% organic wool socks for normal everyday wearing & sleeping; our truly natural organic wool socks are created for people who are chemically sensitive & those who are averse to chemicals & synthetics. Depending on usage, holes may develop over time. They can simply be mended with needle & thread, or needle felting.
