Vegan Organic 100% Wild Kapok Bed Pillow

What is Kapok?
Kapok ceiba trees (the size of oak trees) grow wild in tropical regions like Hawaii, California, Brazil, and Thailand and yield mature pods full of fluffy cotton-like balls called vegan silk floss that can be used without processing to fill pillows. It's very sustainable and has been used for centuries by people in Asia and South America to make organic natural pillows and bedding without any need for processing or traditional cultivation. The kapok ceiba ceibu tree's massive thorns help protect it against damage and have become part of legends and lores in many cultures (such as in mythology in Thailand). We sanitize and clean the fluffy kapok fiber without using any chemicals before stuffing our wild kapok pillows with it.

Kapok pillows are a vegan & sustainable alternative to down pillows. Soft and fluffy. Hypoallergenic. Customize the pillow to your personal needs with choice of loft and zipper to access and adjust the content as needed.

The miracle of nature. Many people have never heard of kapok trees, also known as ceibu trees. This giant miracle of a tree bears up to 4,000 fruit pods, which, when ripe, burst open to reveal vegan silk floss which is fluffier and lighter than cotton and which can be used as-is to fill a fluffy down-like pillow that is vegan, organic and cruelty-free. Our Kea Lani organic kapok pillow is one of our customers' all-time favorite. Get a vegan organic kapok pillow today for yourself and your loved ones. The casing is 100% organic cotton. Handmade in USA.

Because the kapok / ceibu tree's dense, very big thorns gave rise to many myths, legends and lores. One such, from Thai culture, says that a person who tells many lies will be punished in perpetuity in hell by being made to climb the kapok / ceibu tree. Legends aside, the kapok tree is incredible. It's nature's gift to a good night's sleep, all pure and unprocessed and perfect.

We offer this organic, all-natural pillow with or without zipper. With zipper, you can take out the filling and wash the ticking in a machine or by hand; or even replace the filling when desired. Without zipper, spot-clean only, using warm water and gentle soap and a brush. For most spills, a mild solution of 3 parts water to one part vinegar, applied with a spray bottle, will be sufficient. We recommend using a Organic Cotton Pillow Barrier Cloth Protector, to keep your pillow as pristine as possible and keep out dust mites. Please keep your pillow completely dry at all times.

dreamy pillow

After opening my rawganique package in the mail, I could immediately sense the amazing quality of everything. It's all so consciously made and packaged. This product was no different. I wasnt sure about "loft" so I just put medium and its perfect for me. I ordered a kapok pillow because it looks like the tree is literally telling people to make pillows with it. Why are these pillows not more mainstream when they produce a substance that can be directly inserted into pillow without much processing? If your on the fence about trying a kapok pillow I suggest just going for it. This particular pillow is sturdy, soft, and has been nice to sleep on.

Kapok, Cotton and Buckwheat Hull Pillows

I now have one of each of the above pillows, and love them all. I think the buckwheat hull pillow was my favorite before my crazy allergies took a turn for the worse because it smells wonderful and can be molded to perfectly fit whichever position you are sleeping. The cotton pillow packs down a little but is still soft, lighter in weight than the buckwheat hulls, and completely non-allergenic. It works well as a reading pillow, too. The kapok stuffing is the softest and fluffiest, and has an almost silky feeling, but tends to shift around in the pillowcase the most (which can sometimes but not always be a good thing). I'd highly recommend any of them for a comfortable, allergy-free night's sleep (I've noticed an improvement with nasal/sinus congestion and seem to breathe a little easier, too!).
