Since 2000, we have been designing a complete line of sweatshop-free organic cotton clothing, bed and bath products.

Thanks to the support from our customers who won't settle for anything less than true purity and environmental sustainability, we have been able to create unique products such as 100% organic cotton fleece that is brushed on both sides for ultra softness and warmth. We have since used this organic cotton fleece in many products ranging from sweatshirt, sweat pants, blankets, jackets, and hats.
It goes without saying that all of our products are cruelty-free (no animal testing) and vegan, with the exception of a few organic wool bedding items, wool socks, and a lined winter jacket, which are made from cruelty-free wool organically grown in Europe.
We manufacture our products only in countries where we can be certain of stringent regulations regarding worker safety & compensation and environment protection.
It is widely known just how harmful conventional cotton cultivation is for everyone involved - the GMO seedlings (most conventional cotton grown is genetically modified) require huge amounts of highly toxic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides, some of which are the worst neurotoxins used in the darkest chapters of humanity such as nerve gas weapons used in the Vietnam war. These toxic substances remain in the soil for decades, and have been found in dangerous concentrations in humans. Some of the worst-affected are the weakest - fetuses and children who suffer lifelong damage from exposure to such chemicals.
Nobody involved is safe - the farmers and workers, through daily contact, literally risk their lives, often for lack of alternative incomes; consumers, in this age of increasing allergies and multiple chemical sensitivities, manifested in common diseases such as asthma, mental disorders, and infertility; and the whole ecosystem which is permanently damaged by these GMO mono-cultures.
It is our mission to offer an attractive choice to anyone with access to the Internet: Rawganique's products are non-GMO, certified organic, and completely sweatshop-free.
With conventionally grown cotton being among the most pesticided crops in the world, purchasing organic cotton clothing and home products help to save the environment from harmful chemicals, protect farm workers from toxic materials, and protect you and your loved ones from the side effects of pesticides, processing chemicals, many other toxins used in the growing, processing, and manufacturing of conventional cotton products. Conventional cotton production accounts for more than 10 percent of pesticides used today and nearly 23 percent of agricultural insecticide sales. It takes one quarter of a pound of chemicals to produce 2 pairs of conventional men's boxer shorts. Cotton pesticides can enter the human food chain via cottonseed oil used in processed foods. In Asia, cottonseed oil is even sold on grocery shelves as salad oil! Since cottonseed is first of all classified as animal feed, it is not subject to food safety standards as other food products destined for human consumption. If at all possible, choose only certified organic cotton products for your health and that of farm workers and the environment.

Many mainstream big-name clothiers are now offering so-called "organic cotton, linen, or hemp clothing," usually made in China & India. Independent labs in Germany have found as much as 30% GMO cotton in them. Claims of organic cotton fabrics turn out to contain only 3% organic cotton content, with the rest being made up of conventional cotton. Many clothiers also treat linen and hemp fabrics with so much chemicals that they could hardly be called organic or natural anymore.
As a small manufacturer, we take pride in sourcing only 100% organic cotton, linen, & hemp from countries with strict environmental and labor standards (European countries, USA, Canada). We obtain our organic fibers from small growers, then weave luxurious natural & organic fabrics in small batches, before sewing and finishing them with a mind to environmental sustainability. Much of the price you pay for our products go directly towards the raw organic materials, production costs, and fair wages. We aim for a modest profit so as to be able to begin the cycle of production all over again, thereby continuing to make available organic products that are better for workers, wearers, and the environment.
"If you assume that there's no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, that there are opportunities to change things, there's a chance you may contribute to making a better world. That's your choice"
As designers, we are tempted by bamboo's promise and softness, but as eco-conscious people we have resisted the urge to use it because the process of turning the bamboo plant into a man-made, soft bamboo fabric uses way too many acids, chemicals, and natural resources for our liking.
For now, we have found that we can make almost everything our customers could ever need with three ancient fibers that are pure, sustainable, versatile, and soft enough for any purpose: organic cotton, hemp, and linen.
News: The US and Canadian governments are going after false claims made by manufacturers of bamboo products because the fiber labeled "bamboo" in many products is actually rayon.
>>Under the Textile Labeling Act and Regulations, "bamboo" is not listed as a generic fiber name, and as a result it is not legal to identify the fiber content on a label as "bamboo". Because of the processing involved, "rayon" must be used."
>> "Four sellers of clothing and other textile products with deceptively labeling and advertising these items as made of bamboo fiber, when they are made of rayon."
